Unedited Podcast 25: Good to the Last Drop?

This week, we discuss teenage drinking and try to take a look at why it's the hobby of so many high school students. What do parents think?  Is partying good or bad, or just a thing? Let us know in the comments!

As usual, you can download the episode by right-clicking here and choosing Save Target As... OR you can subscribe through iTunes by searching for us in the Music Store there. We're the podcast with the tree icon when you search the word Unedited and check the podcast section.

Always,
Megan

Hi Rosy Lee and Megan. I am in Montreal! I finally got around to listening to your podcast... it was super busy leading up to Spring Break. I have moved Sarah's Jottings to a new location -
jottings-sarah.blogspot.com
and there are some Montreal pics there. I will be thinking of some questions I would like to hear a podcast about =)
See you soon!

Hi bizarre virtual twins and prospective roomies.
About the contractual obligations that teachers have to notice or not notice when students are hung over or still drunk in class...
Hmmmm...
If it's an underage situation, it's got to be referred to the office right anyway, no question about it.
If it's use of drugs, it's referred right away too.
If the kid is 18 but is taking school so lightly that he's showing up whacked or hung over, I would just send him home and then talk to him later when he's in a condition to deal with it reasonably. Questions like "Why are you doing that to yourself?" and "How much Math do you think you're going to integrate into your brain when it's busy processing jelly shots?" would be appropriate.
Fortunately, it doesn't happen all that often.
Unfortunately, I'm possibly very wrong about that because I'm pretty clueless about stuff sometimes.
More later.
cheers,
Patterson

Wow, congratulations ladies, you've gotten Patterson into the podcast! haha
I think that underage drinking actually happens far too much. Some kids believe that they are mature enough to handle it, but they're not. By the time you turn 18, or at least get close to it, most people are smart enough to know the risks associated. I say some, because lots will still be stupid about it and overdo it...but thus is the nature of natural selection.
